Welcome! Not just to our website, but to something that is very much alive.

I am Soror Rosalind L. Kiel, and it is the honor of my life to serve as the 6th President of the North Harris County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. I do not take this privilege lightly. I do not take you lightly. And I do not intend to waste a single moment of the next two years.

So, before I tell you what we do, let me tell you who we ARE.

We are nearly 400 women strong, rooted in five communities: Cypress, Jersey Village, Spring, Tomball, and Humble, and we are just getting started.

In 2006, a group of visionary women planted a seed in North Harris County. Twenty years later, that seed has grown into one of the most dynamic chapters in the Blazing Southwest Region. In our 20th anniversary year alone, we celebrated our largest scholarship investment in chapter history, a testament to what is possible when women of purpose show up and do the work.

Now in year 21, we are not resting on that legacy. We are BUILDING on it.

Our work is guided by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

Economic Development – investing in the financial futures of those we serve
Educational Development – fueling scholarship, literacy, and lifelong learning
International Awareness and Involvement – connecting our local work to a global mission
Physical and Mental Health – because whole communities begin with whole people
Political Awareness and Involvement – ensuring every voice is informed, activated, and heard

These are not just bullet points on a page. They are the five heartbeats of everything we do across our service areas, and we pursue each one with intention, collaboration, and meaningful impact.

Under my administration, our platform is LEVEL UP, and every word is deliberate:

Lift – We will lift each other and our communities without apology
Equip – We will modernize, innovate, and meet this moment with better tools and stronger communication
Validate – Every Soror. Every generation. Every gift, seen, honored, and used
Engage – Showing up IS sisterhood, and we are calling our chapter back to the work
Love – We operate from covenant, deep, committed, and action driven
Unity – Nearly 400 women moving together is a force this region has not yet fully seen
Purpose – Our communities are not waiting. Neither are we.

This is an extraordinary season for our chapter and for Houston.

As our city prepares to host the 2027 Delta Sigma Theta National Convention, North Harris County Alumnae Chapter will be ready, not just as participants, but as a chapter that exemplifies what Delta looks like when it is firing on all cylinders. We stand on the threshold of Extra Large chapter status, and we are not just chasing a number. We are expanding our capacity to serve, to impact, and to represent this sorority with excellence on a national stage.

To our current Chapter Sorors, whether you have been present every meeting or have been away for a season, there is a seat at this table with your name on it. No judgment. No conditions. Just an open door and a chapter ready to welcome you back to the work.
